Migraines and How Using an App Got Me Relief
Migraines affect about 1 billion people worldwide. Each person has a different experience. Some attacks last for hours to days. Some are so painful that a person cannot even move. I never knew how serve these migraines were inhibiting me. It was leading me to miss precious time and moments. I started journaling what I was eating and drinking, but that still could not tell me what was triggering the pain.
I went to the doctor and they kept prescribing me different treatments. I knew something was wrong because everything I came into Houston my body would have a reaction and I mentioned this to my doctor. Then when I moved to Houston it started to get even worse. I sat down with my doctor and we noticed the pain would go away if I went back to Ohio or travelled for work but returned back to Houston. She suggested going to a neurologist, who ordered a CT and MRI of my brain, both of those came clean.
We went through a history of head injuries and my trauma. We started documenting every day on an App called Migraine Buddy and noticed more and more that something the environment in Houston was triggering my migraines more. She was able to prescribe me a medication that has now helped me, which has kept my migraines to absolute minimum.
I was just amazed with the App because it allows you to track so many more things, you may not think of. From things like the weather, moon phase, sleeping habits, pressure variations, track your pain onsets, etc. I highly recommend this app to anyone who has Migraines to track their migraines to see if they have any triggers. For me it was an environment trigger. For you it may be a food.
They are a lot of treatments out there! Please take care of yourself and do not miss moments!
May you find your relief, if you suffer from migraines.
